I haven't read it but it looks entertaining. It appears to be along similar lines as the The Dark Is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper. That series has also won lots of awards. Would definitely recommend that series next if you haven't read it.

Yes! The one with the witches! It took me four years to watch the entire show but I finally did it yesterday. So happy to be back :)

Look up the 'Skylark' series by E.E. Doc Smith. Absolutely fantastic and he predicted a LOT of the modern tech that we have right now.
