Memes existed before the internet, so they probably had some of their own back then. Y'all remember the S thing? (Stussy or whatever you want to call it)

The problem with this kind of thinking is that you don't need to have personally experienced something in order to know about it.

It's not "millennials" it's the "younger generation." All throughout history, the previous generations have ALWAYS seen the newer generations as lazy, entitled, etc. Each new generation has things that the previous one did not. Also...why is it always millenials vs baby boomers? Where are the Gen Xers in all of this? Or did we just forget about them?

Because you are probably not their doctor, and how do you know they are not already aware of their weight/health issues? People who are struggling don't just instantly recover. Bodies take time to heal.

It kind of implies thought that the Christian friend DIDN'T think op was going to heaven, and many Christians believe there are only two options: Up or Down.

Personally, I don't mind people asking if I have kids, or when I plan to have them. What bothers me is when they act like it's some great personal offense and/or crime against humanity when I tell them I don't have any and don't plan to.

People shelling out the money to have their portraits painted (usually) wanted an idealized version of themselves, or at least what would be considered ideal for the time.

Having to keep a dog leashed (temporarily) or fenced-in for their own safety and the safety of others is understandable, but forcing them to wear heavy chains like this is NOT OKAY.

Nah. Just ignore the fan-dumbs as best as you can and enjoy (or don't enjoy) a work on its own merits. Unless fans are actually somehow involved in the production, don't let them taint your personal experience of it. Anything that gains enough popularity is bound to have at least some unpleasant fans in the mix.

I agree. And the opposite is true to. "Skinny" doesn't automatically equal healthy living. I've known skinny people who primarily ate fast food and junk like that, but rarely gained any weight b/c that's just how their bodies worked.
Also, don't judge someone for their size when you don't know their journey. That "fat" person might be half the size they once were, might be exercising regularly, etc and doing what they can.

Didn't have one in the small town I grew up in, and anytime we'd visit someplace that did have one, my parents would always just be like "Sorry, we don't have time" or "Maybe next trip." Never got to step foot in one once as a kid.

I personally don't really get this kind of rating system. In my head 4 out of 5 stars would mean they did a great job and deserve praise. 5 out of 5 stars would mean absolutely fantastically amazing dreams come true perfection. I hate this notion that anything that isn't perfect or near-perfect is an unacceptable failure.

As someone who isn't interested in having children, I actually appreciate when people us "If" instead of "When". "IF" understands that not everyone chooses to have children, and not everyone will have children or even can have children.

Yep. If I recall correctly, the word "violet" just wasn't used to describe a color at the time. "Blue" was simply the closest descriptive they had. Language changed over time, and now "violet" refers to both a color and a flower. A similar thing happened with "orange".
