What I mean is for me at least, depression is a disease. My brain does not produce chemicals correctly, just as my lungs to not function correctly. Getting help is not optional. I do, I talk to who I need to, that is not in question. I'm just so tired of people saying it's my fault I suffer depression, that I'm not trying hard enough, that I'm ignoring all the good things in my life, that I need to cheer up. I have reasons to be happy, I can't because my brain is broken.

They share similar brain chemistry as us. So they could use said monkeys to study the disease and devise medicines to help treat some of the symptoms. This is a good step.

Oh when there was a shooting in the next store over, they got us all together and told us to be nicer to people, because if they workers thier had been polite to the shooter he wouldn't have shot up the place. Like that would fucking help. But hey we've stopped selling handguns

To share from a gays point of view: I mean, I spent my entire life being told that I was wrong and going to hell, and getting beaten for it, then in the last 7 years it became easier. The reason people are so proud is because before now, you could get killed for this, and you still can. When people like me stop getting threatend and yelled at, then I feel like this will die down. I definitely don't condone using your sexuality as a personality, but I definitely see the way young gay people act as a way they are coping with the way they have been treated.
