When I was a kid, I scooted too close to the edge and went flying off. Hit the ground knees first and bled brown for a second. (The blood came out with the dirt pushed in.) That was the day I learned my Dad was much faster pusher than some other people's Dads.

They do. Look, focusing on institutions instead of individuals isn't a bad impulse. But it doesn't work for this, because that still normalizes the extreme dysfunction by trying to recontextualize it. Be mad at the politicians driving a narrative for their own gain. Be mad at people unwilling to do or engage with anything. Be mad at the populist and reductive talking points. The law is doing its best to execute against a deliberately created mess. There are laws. They can not fix anything because the whole situation is stupid. Put your anger and thoughts toward making it less stupid.

Yeah, go full out and BE A HIPPIE, or be a corporate drone. Don't play weekend hippie. Hipsters show up in their poor person/radical person costume for a few days and then head back to the suburbs feeling special. Death to hipsters, indeed.

Sit down, Josh. You are still very much way tooooooo stupid to reference feminism. Land. It's baffling, the lack of awareness.

Side note - this is why people who argue working for a functional society isn't a selfish pursuit, or that it's not a requirement for individual success, are wrong. One at a time, we as a species have next to nothing to get by. Collectively? We don't get tired, we don't stay dead, we learn real fast. We rule the planet.

I mean, I feel like the generation most badly misinformed get their news from Facebook and "alternative news" options. But go off I guess.

Verbal artefact from thinking women are the natural victims, so we therefore need a different word for when it happens to the "wrong" gender. Enraging from any side of the debate. I have never heard sexual assault of a male called reverse r*pe. It's ridiculous on its face and causes echoing damage as a concept. 100% agree you should reject such language in the strongest terms.

Maybe the drunk security person who abandoned his post of protecting the president would have stayed nearby if Grant showed up.

Moreover: arguing in bad faith about things that do not involve or affect someone is the best way to get heartburn, so I'm attempting to appeal to the core issue. I am as disinclined to engage with the Depp chorus as I was a year ago. Watch his professional work, don't watch his professional work. Stop holding up street laundry to get whatever bizarre charge defending him gives you. Just - pick fights with your friends about messy situations. Stop trying to drag this back into the light to get what is obviously some sort of dopamine hit. It's not information I want to know about you and the situation is BEYOND unnecessary to ever reference again. Forever.

Yeah, specifically did not engage with that front. I want all the fanboys who keep dragging it up to sandwich it in to stop putting their hand up for Johnny Depp
Let it die. Stop trying to make a private situation an opportunity to dunk or discuss. Gross, dude. For several reasons. It was unpleasant to see laundry in the street. It will never NOT be unpleasant to see laundry in the street. It is deeply deadening to see a persistent NEED to try to vilify and discuss. LET IT GO. it's unbecoming of an adult, let alone a male adult. Just - same as it was a year ago. Stop. It's upsetting and embarrassing. Digging in a mudpie because there's this very suspect but apparently unending need to "prove" or speak on this doesn't make you anything but muddy and piggish.

I don't think you are clear on "appalling" as a descriptor instead of hyperbole.

Well, if anyone is still using that appalling term, it would be the people surrounding Johnny Depp.
