I thought being gay wasn't about conscious choice but rather about natural attraction...?

Well yeah, exactly, but a lot of people don't realize that disagreeing with someone doesn't mean you get to insult them or hate on them. That's not how a productive discussion starts. A productive discussion starts with you trying to find out why that person has a different opinion and/or try to disprove that opinion using your knowledge/experience. Or maybe find out if there was a misunderstanding, which happens sometimes since only a few people here are native English speakers.

Tbh people who start "flame wars" are just not very good at making arguments. Insulting your "opponent" instead of disproving their argument is just petty and helps no one.

Ikr, and I'm really glad you asked. It's sad that the common practice here is to assume and downvote instead of asking. Even though nobody here knows The Satanic Temple, I had thought that at least the words "atheistic satanist" might get them intrigued because it probably wouldn't make much sense to the average joe, but apparently I was wrong.

No no, they actually criticize how some Satanists are just edgy cultists, and that the Church of Satan "fetishizes authoritarianism" (got that from the Wikipedia page on The Satanic Temple)

It's an organisation of people who, despite being atheists, fight for equality of religions in the US. As we all know Christianity is very common there. The original thought (or at least that's how I understand it) was that it's nonsense that Christian organisations get so much state funding, compared to other religions that don't get anything, and they call themselves Satanists just because it's a controversial thing to most Christians. They also fight against Westboro which is a noble goal in itself.
Examples of stuff they did: put up a big statue of Baphomet to show that they should have the same freedom of religion as Christians who put up a statue of the 10 commandments some weeks earlier, handed out "Satanic children's books" in schools (which contained the satanic tenets, you should look them up, much more common sense that the 10 commandments), organized a LGBT makeout party on WBC owner's mother grave (I find this one a bit edgy but it was just a big "fuck you" to WBC anyway)

Judging by the medieval standards of royalty, yes. Judging by for example today's British royal family, no. They're just glorified celebrities imo, and hold no actual power whatsoever. At least not anymore.

Huh, looks like FS doesn't know about Satanic Temple. I had thought that someone would get my reference and know that they're actually really nice people who fight for religious freedom and equality, but oh well.

Lucky you. My skin is not even that pale, I actually tan easily, but it's thin af and you can see all the veins and it's super gross.
In the spirit of staying positive, though, I'll say I really like my eye colour. And my hair, when it decides to cooperate with me.

You put a pillow under your laptop? Do you want it to melt like it's in the fiery pits of hell?!
In all seriousness though, putting a laptop on soft stuff with no ventilation might be dangerous. At best it may shut down, at worst the battery might explode, but I guess that only happens with older laptops, phones etc.
Also, the doggy is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life <3

Fair enough, but I still don't think "You know this movie/series?" "I've heard about it" really qualifies as striking up a decent conversation. Small talk at best.

You're making some good points but the thing is, you can indeed probably talk to anyone about a TV show and they will vaguely know what you're talking about. But that's it. If you came up to me and started talking about The Walking Dead which is apparently very popular now and can thus be called "socially relevant", I'd say "yeah I know about it" and I'd be smiling and nodding for the rest of the conversation. So yes, television is a very wide medium indeed, but that doesn't mean you can talk to everyone about everything. Everything popular enough becomes socially relevant, whether it's a book, movie, series/anime, game etc., no matter the medium. And of course it depends upon your preferences and demographic, but provided a thing gets popular, people will at least hear about it anyways.

You treat royalty like royalty because royalty is usually spoiled and can't open their own jars without at least ten butlers helping them out.

I know about that since it's fucking written in the post, mr. "Know it all". But how is anyone even going to catch you with the knife? You kill any enemy witness and ally witnesses are going to pretend they saw nothing because it helped them "win".

True. Still, I lost some respect for Tom. I thought he tried to avoid the celebrity drama, and then he starts dating Taylor the Drama Queen.
Of course people may say "It's not for the drama, he just fell in love with her!" and yes, it is most likely the case, but then again any man with some intelligence, common sense and dignity stays the fuck away from her.
