Exactly. As I said, doesn't mean that the person can't one day actually befriend their idol, but a signed piece of paper isn't proof of anything. It's like saying "My favourite artist sold me their signed piece of art, how special I am!" No, idiot, that's what they do, it's their job.

I've got two points to make.
Firstly, I completely agree with your original statement. The fact that they got it signed doesn't mean that they really mean anything to Dan and Phil. The guys just signed a piece of paper. They have millions of fans, they sign papers all day when they're on a con. It's good to meet your idols and I'm really not trying to take it from anyone that they can actually become friends with their idols as well, however let's be realistic, a signed piece of paper isn't really proof that you mean something to them.
Secondly, I hate people who downvote without saying why as well. It just shows that they have no valid argument to make. If you disagree with someone and can't even say why, you're either too lazy to participate in a discussion or your arguments are not principled and coherent enough to be formed in a comment, in which case I'm sorry for you and you should sort things out in your head.

We were not talking about that. You either don't know what you're talking about or are making a false equivalence on purpose, and I'm not sure which is worse. willfree suggested that if a couple has an arrangement that the partner can sleep with someone else on a certain occasion, that it's entirely their thing and nobody should be able to talk into their own private business. As long as there's consent, it's good. In the case of this post there was obviously no such arrangement, that's why the guy cancelled the wedding. But there are couples with such arrangements out there, and no nosey judgmental twat should be able to control what they do in their own bedroom.
I suggest you go back and read all the comments in this thread before commenting, it will help you avoid such an embarrassment in the future.
