It's just pretty annoying to see people disagree with you and not tell why. It seems like for many, the reason is that they don't even know why or can't form a coherent argument around it.
Yeah? Which one? Popular convention says there's seven of them. 3 comments

Maybe the big fish is a symbolism for the person being morbidly onese. No wonder nobody wants them.

In my opinion traditions are at best useless but harmless (for example Christmas, Easter and other celebrations), at worst harmful (for example circumcision). I really haven't found a single tradition that would today be beneficial. And oftentimes people use "tradition" to excuse their backwards mindset. Leave the past in the past, the way to move is forward.

I think this also applies to cars to some extent. Expensive sports cars like Lambos, Ferraris, Audis etc. just seem like what a rich douchebag would buy. But there is a factor of different tastes here and some sports cars do genuinely look good, I am just very biased in this respect because I'm a sucker for classics.

Unpopular opinion: expensive designer clothes are for filthy rich people who think they can compensate their lack of taste with money.

Not-so-fun fact: Hurricanes with female names kill more people. Not because they're more deadly, the names are chosen according to some system which is not based on the hurricane's force at all, but actually because people underestimate the hurricane when it has a female name and don't take it as seriously as if it had the male version of the same name.

As a woman who doesn't give a damn about fashion, I'm confused by this weird stereotype. 8 comments

I get that and I don't have a very high self confidence either. But whenever I see a woman who is hotter than me, I think that I have other redeeming qualities besides looks. She probably does as well but those aren't superficial therefore I can't judge them at first glance. And honestly, maybe I'm just an asshole but whenever I see someone who looks like they're trying way too hard with their appearance (like huge muscles in men who look like they spend 5 hours a day in a gym or too much makeup in women who look like they spend 5 hours a day in front of a mirror), I can't help but think that their looks are probably their only redeeming quality since they're trying so hard.

@pokethebear Dude, nobody's arguing the legality of the situation. Of course we all know that hacking someone's account is illegal. We're just saying that if your whole doctrine is based around racial discrimination, hatred, and violence, with a history of criminal acts including murder and beatings as @smitty already said, exposing you for what you are is doing the rest of the world a service. And no this isn't about "punishing people for having different opinions", these Ku Klux Klan members can't and won't be punished by law for their horrendous opinions (unless said member actually acted upon them and assaulted someone of course), it's just showing the world who stands behind these opinions. And as I already said, it's just names, there's a very slim chance that someone would trace a name to a person since there are so many people with the same name.

They just released the names. Names are a pretty soft lead as there are thousands of people with the same name. This is not really doxxing.

No it's okay, I wanted my comment to sound flegmatic but I guess I failed. And it's cool to disagree, I'm sure there are Christians who really do it because they care about the child, I'm just describing my case specifically. I'm still going to stand by my statement about ritualisms and traditions, though.

Dude I'm not flippant about this, I'm just saying that it's a useless thing to do. Besides, this whole "they were nice to you by doing things their faith tells them is good" is bs. Sure, they believe baptism is good, but the reason they're doing is because "that's how we've been doing it for decades". Saving you is a secondary reason, the main reason is the survival of the tradition itself, the reason is not breaking the status quo, doing things as usual. Seriously, I have nothing against people believing in something, but the ritualisms connected to many religions just get on my nerves. It's literally no different than tribes in Africa dancing around the fire, yet many Christians would brand those as savage. Which is where I think there's a massive hypocrisy. "My rituals are pure. But their rituals are just savage!" But I'm probably biased because I just think that centuries old traditions are at best useless (like Christmas), at worst harmful (like male circumcision).

Children being around animals stresses me out. Children are dicks to animals. Not all of course but a majority because their motor skills are not evolved yet and they don't understand that what they do can cause the animal pain.

Ehh they just put the baby in water that is supposedly blessed. I was Christened and I don't remember what it was like but I presume it was about as effective as the "homeopathic" sugar pills some esoterics try to sell as miraculous cures. But hey I got a middle name thanks to it. Which I don't even use. Yay.
