@sir_spiderman while it is true that Abrahamic religions have very fucked up stuff in their books like daughters raping their own dad etc., most people who believe in them don't actually follow all this stuff to the letter. In other words, only the good stories survived while the bad ones were forgotten, which demonstrates that humans' morality has changed for the better. Naturally, anyone who claims that we shouldn't wear mixed fabrics or eat shellfish or that the world was created in 7 days is seen as a nutjob and rightly so.
But I was talking about religion in general. As far as I know, writings of Norse, Greek, Roman, Slavic, Eastern etc. religions have more vanilla stuff in them, less murder and rape and more fantasy-like stuff about how the world was created and so on. As I said, stories from a time when people didn't know any better.

@kolorblind Yeah that's pretty much what I try to do. I just don't believe in the deities in them.
@timebender25 lol, true.

Also, I don't insult religious people as long as they don't use their religion to do shitty things to other people. Imo atheists who aggressively push their non-religiousness onto others are just as bad as religious people pushing their religiousness onto others. Just don't be an asshole, that's a doctrine I follow. You may think that religion is just sheep following a doctrine (and in the Middle Ages that was very true as religion was used as population control, but today most modern nations are secular and you can't be persecuted for your religion) but faith helps many people get through really hard times when they might've committed suicide if it wasn't for their faith. Is it just psychological placebo? Probably. But it helped those people, it had a real effect. And again, as long as they're not being assholes about it, why insult them for believing in things?

Tbh as an atheist I also think that all religions are just stories made up by people thousands of years ago. On the other hand, some of them are really nice stories. I personally like Norse mythology in general. I don't believe in the gods or the Nine worlds connected by Yggdrasil, but many of the stories are very creative and well done and I enjoy reading them, it's very similar to reading a fantasy book (if I remember correctly Tolkien himself got inspired by Norse, Slavic and maybe also Greek mythology when creating the world and lore of Middle Earth).

Good point but they still assume that it's some kind of male dominated system that is above all of us.

I make puns like that all the time. My boyfriend always rolls his eyes while I laugh hysterically at my own horrible pun. Sometimes I don't even laugh, I just gasp for air while tears roll down my cheeks and I clap my hands like a retarded seal.

Of course I know you have to wash the suits, especially in the summer. Hygiene is a "duh" here. What I meant was, you don't have to differentiate between different styles of formal clothing.

I lost a wee bit of respect for the poster when they mentioned "the patriarchy" but overall it actually makes a lot of sense. This explains the "nice guy syndrome" and why some men feel used by a woman when she just wants to be friendly.

I absolutely agree that men should be able to wear something lighter than suits in the summer. At the same time, I don't think that men's dress codes are worse than women's. Many businesses still require women to wear makeup (which clogs your pores and is basically the worst thing you can do if you have sensitive skin, also ffs who wants to spend 20 minutes putting it on each morning?), high heels (that have been proven to fuck up your joints and bones pretty badly if worn every day), hairdo, absolutely no body hair on revealed places, if you wear a skirt or dress it has to be short but not too short, proper accessories and a bag, tights… not to mention men can have one black suit with a few shirts and ties for every opportunity, if they don't drastically gain or lose weight that suit can last for years. Women have to wear different stuff if it's business formal or ball formal or semi-formal and are frowned upon (admittedly, by other women) when they wear the same dress twice in a row.

The "sorta made of fire" thing was a reference to an episode of AT, lol. Yeah it probably wouldn't be that hard

Hell yeah.
My personal favourite is Flame Princess but it would probably be pretty hard to dress up as her since she's sorta made of fire.

Quite so. One-sided relationships always have a destructive nature, whether it's a romantic relationship or friendship.

Well if a British person says "With all due respect…" in most cases it means he/she doesn't respect you at all.

Yeah, I think I do too, or I used to. I like to debate a lot so in my case it could've been someone butthurt because I disagreed with them, which is so petty I actually feel sorry for the stalker a little bit.

That honestly just sounds like you need better friends. I know we can't always choose people around us like in case of family, classmates, coworkers etc. but jeez, sounds like the people around you are selfish arseholes.
