I thought guestwho was just trying really hard to have the last word even though they have nothing of substance to say ... But your explanation is way funnier

@guest_ I am having a lovely weekend, thank you!
And yes, I have definitely been brainwashed by a leftist programme but damn are the lizard people secretive about it. They even erased our minds afterwards so that we would also forget everything they taught us. How thorough!
Side note, I've been reading some books about populism lately and guestwho displays many of the signs of... Let's say a person who would get very easily influenced by a populist movement. The us vs them mentality, the dehumanization/ad hominems, the borderline conspiracy theory, the "things used to be better in the past" mindset (also often called "Heartland")... Maybe I've been brainwashed by education but it's really interesting to see the signs here

I think it's an even more awkward moment when one person explained the issue eloquently as heck and the other has no argument so they just pretend it's not worth replying to. We see through your bullshit, guestwho.

Toxic masculinity = toxic behavior that stems specifically from gender roles/expectations on men. It's a subcategory of toxic personality/toxic behavior, just like toxic femininity.
Examples of toxic masculinity: catcalling, being aggressive, telling other men not to cry because they're men (seriously the last one is very damaging to men's psyche). What is NOT toxic masculinity: enjoying stereotypically manly things (as long as nobody gets seriously hurt obv), being comfortable in your identity as a man.
Examples of toxic femininity: being emotionally manipulative (such as by crying to get sympathy), expecting men to always pay for you. What is NOT toxic femininity: enjoying stereotypically feminine things, being comfortable in your identity as a woman.
There. This isn't about erasing manhood, this isn't about not letting men be men, but rather about erasing gender stereotypes which are redundant at best, dangerous at worst.

As someone from a country with 'free' healthcare the idea of "you either give birth on camera for this movie we're then gonna sell OR you're gonna pay loads of money for giving birth in a safe environment" is absolutely terrifying.

"suck my toxic cock" I love how he just admitted he's toxic.
Or maybe he just fucks so many toxic people that his dick is now toxic too.
Either way, congratulations, you played yourself.

Parents can shape us in negative ways and pushing strict gender roles on your kids ("boys don't cry", "girls can't fight/do math/drive" etc) is bad, why would people not be ready for that discussion?

Looks expensive. Do I look like I just robbed a bank?
Scratch that, you'd need to rob like 10 banks to afford that.

The monks had to eat pine cones and drink poisonous lacquer sap for at least two years to be able to self-mummify. It's basically religious suicide. Ask A Mortician has a great video about this if you're interested in learning more.

Well, self-mummification was a thing among monks in Asia. It's outlawed in most places now for obvious reasons.

... without being too restricted by the character's personality as outlined by the previous movies.
So yeah in principle I agree, I just don't really see how James Bond of all things became the point of contention. That guy was played by so many different actors and his personality also changes with each movie apart from the few very basic traits. So I think it would be quite easy in this case to just say it's a code name and make a movie with a female protagonist.
Then again, I guess that would kind of ruin the point of James Bond which has always been oriented towards straight male audiences, I mean some of the old movies are just straight up sexist so I guess making this a progressive franchise wouldn't really sit well with the audience. (2/2)

Lol thanks, I hate it when people just blindly down vote without giving their opinion, it doesn't help the discussion at all.
I suppose you're right. I too am tired of all these remakes that have been popping up lately so some fresh franchises would be welcome. I just feel like this is a situation where you can't really win – either you remake a character, that gets people pissed. Or you make a new one with the same archetype and genre, that will get you accused of copying another franchise. The second one I think is especially perilous to do because if you're an indie filmmaker using the same archetype and concepts as a big franchise owned by a big company, there might be lawsuits coming at your head. And we know how trigger-happy some companies are with lawsuits... I suppose the best solution is to make a spin-off with different characters in the same universe, that way you get the publicity that comes with a big name and you get to use your ideas... (1/2)

It's usually not the teacher's fault that the school printers suck ass. In many cases they do this to make tests more interesting instead of always doing multiple choice or whatever. But they definitely should take the bad quality of the images into account. In my experience they usually don't because one or two kids managed to guess it correctly so "the entire class just must've not been trying hard enough".
I still don't envy teachers though, it is an incredibly ungrateful job and you need to be really passionate about it not to implode after some time.
