Gonna ask for a raise next week because I've been doing work my colleagues can't do (mostly computer stuff, so I'm kinda double working as a receptionist as well as IT support), wish me luck! :D

I'm curious, do you just pray and learn Bible verses or do you learn about other religions, at least the major ones in the world? I'm an atheist as well but we don't have religion class in my country (because most of the country are atheists or at least agnostics) so I never encountered that problem.
And it would be discrimination if your teacher gave you bad grades despite you doing well, wouldn't it?

Look at the current political situation, look at who's in power.
C'mon I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain the joke.

Yess this is how this should be reported, not "BRAVE prince Harry gives up immense wealth, he's so selfless" or whatever. So many millions of pounds are spent on the royals yearly, they're not brave for giving up a little bit of it. Not to mention a) Meghan is rich too, she's a well known actress after all, b) he'll probably get a "job" at some consulting firm anyway. They're nowhere near going broke, this is hardly a brave move.

Cozy tiny house 9 comments

Thank you! I don't have experience in construction but I know some people who do (specifically my dad's friends). Basically I'm just coming up with crazy ideas and hoping some of them will stick and be actually doable irl. For example I'd like the house to be (almost) off-grid (because I'll still need the internet) and so I'd like it to be powered by solar and collect rainwater (I live in Central Europe so I think that's feasible here). For the pipes I thought I'd have a separate solar powered heater that'd run on its own circuit and be on all the time (during winter anyway, or maybe have a temperature sensor or something). And also as an energy-saving measure I thought I'd have a "fridge" in the ground I'd pull up through a closeable hole in the floor. My dad and his friends are skeptical about that tho lol

Lol my boomer grandma "cooks" by buying instant meals and putting them in the oven and can't sew or fix small stuff around the house at all. My gen X parents and me (a zoomer) are I think more interested in DIY stuff than boomers who have a "buy and discard" mentality. But of course not all of them, I feel like this is less of a generation thing and more about where you grew up, your socioeconomic status as well as your general knowledge and willingness to learn. I see people of all generations throwing away fixable stuff, or wasting money by eating at overpriced restaurants because they can't cook, or buying unethical fast fashion because they don't want to get stuff at thrift stores and then make the necessary fixes/changes, etc. I think it's all about your willingness to learn new things. It's not even hard to operate a sewing machine, or to cook from scratch, or Google how to fix something. But many people regardless of generation assume it to be too difficult and never learn.

Honestly, you shouldn't expect a reward for doing basic chores to keep your home clean and supplied, and the fact that this is usually so praised with guys but taken for granted with girls shows that we still have a lot of work to do in terms of gender equality. But if it means your man will actually do the stuff instead of making excuses until you're so fed up with the overflowing trash and dirty floors you just do it yourself (aka my current situation that I will hopefully change soon), go for it I guess.

Not a tiny house but pretty small and cute!
I've been wanting to build a tiny house in a trailer myself. I have the 3D layout/general idea of where to put stuff so it works in a tiny space, but that's about it so far. I don't even have the trailer yet or any idea where to park it once I get it, and I know it will probably take months if not years to properly rebuild. But I'm a broke student who's tired of paying so much in rent and a tiny house is my only hope right now of having a comfortable place to call my own, so I'd really like to go for it.

I've recently started a low carb diet (not keto, keto is very unhealthy and you usually gain the weight back and are worse off afterwards than before because people lose fat+muscle but only tend to gain back fat) and it's been kinda hard not to snack on chocolate or potato chips but honestly, zoodles and cauliflower rice are lifesavers, so good and so low in calories and carbs. Totally recommend swapping spaghetti/noodles for zoodles and rice for cauliflower rice from time to time if you want to limit your calorie intake a bit but still want to feel full and sated.

I feel bad for him. He's not a bad actor, I mean he's more than proven himself with many of his previous roles, but apparently his script was utter shite and a lot of material with him was cut out.
That said, Phoenix's Joker was indeed legendary and the two aren't even comparable.

Grand Moff Tarkin and his comfy slippers 1 comments

Hmmm, I don't think this is entirely accurate. From the interviews I've seen with various cast members, he had extraordinarily large feet and so they had to have his boots custom made, so until they arrived he wore slippers. I might be misremembering it tho.

While I'm 100% for investing money into renewable energy, recycling technology and other environmentally-friendly measures, not only on the state level but also in terms of an international framework/rules, I can't say I can get behind the "just in case" argument. First of all I don't think you can persuade people who "don't believe" in climate change anyway (which, yes, is a matter of facts not beliefs, but people will claim they don't believe it anyway), second of all someone could flip it and say "well why don't you believe in God/Allah/[insert any deity or deities] just in case? What if they're real and you'll burn in hell" and I just don't think that's a good basis for an argument tbh.
