So I guess the Napoleon complex didn't originally relate to height but to other insecurities lol

Up to a point, yeah money definitely buys happiness. Life's a lot easier when you don't have to constantly worry about making rent or whether you'll be able to afford dinner for your family. There was a study I read a while back, I'll link it if I'll be able to find it again, that showed that very often poor people can't escape poverty because just the worry about money itself takes up so much of their mental space and drains their energy so they have none left to actually improve their lot in life. Not to mention all the other issues connected to poverty, like lack of health care including mental health, basic necessities, opportunities and so on. In essence, poverty perpetuates itself, and the phrase "money doesn't buy happiness" deflects a lot of people's real experiences.
But yeah once you're comfortably rich and have enough money to buy anything you need when you need it, then you realize all your problems can't be solved by throwing money at them I guess.

Yeah, I was about to mention that as well. If I remember correctly, back when the thot audit happened the IRS even asked people not to report these sex workers because the overwhelming majority of them were paying their taxes properly, and reporting people like that en masse was just wasting the IRS's time.
But I mean, we know the thot audit wasn't really about taxes. It was just incels being incels.

I have a dress form with a gas mask hung on the neck in my bedroom/sewing workshop. You have no idea how many heart attacks I've had when I woke up in the middle of the night lol.

Yeah as someone who's a Norse mythology nerd, Marvel's terrible interpretation of it makes my blood boil. But this is a new low.
Did you know Norse mythology also contains, for example, the name Gandalf? He's an elf mentioned at the beginning of the Elder Edda if I remember correctly. Tolkien drew a lot of inspiration from Norse myths. It's so delightful to read his works alongside the Eddas and find the similarities.

Oh wow, that looks absolutely fantastic! Have your ever tried making the Tarte Tatin? It's almost the same but the apples are caramelized in butter and sugar before baking.

@famousone Mmm, nope. I'm for gay and trans people having equal rights but not preferential treatment, and I'm against inherited/white guilt. I'm for sensible regulations, not the BS that helps megacorporations eliminate competition. They should be culled in a sensible way. I'm a free speech absolutist, I believe you should be able to say what you want, and I have never indicated otherwise. I'm puzzled by this notion many people on the right have, that disagreement equals wanting to remove free speech. No, by disagreeing I'm utilizing my right to free speech, and you're equally free to do the same. Furthermore, by disagreeing I'm not automatically on the "other side". I'm usually trying to reach a middle ground. It's you who attributes the most extreme shit to me, stuff I never said.
Sigh... could you, at least ONCE, react to what I actually say and not to a strawman/guilt by association you made and misremembered from previous convos? It'd be real nice. One time is all I'm asking for.

Ahahaha, people like me sure didn't build this system. I assume you're talking about Starbucks sipping liberals, who I also hate, so we're on the same boat here. And even then, immediately blaming me to shut up my critiques, not a great argument my dude.
But then, what do you think is the better system? What parts of the current system need to be dismantled or changed specifically? I'm really curious, not trying to do a gotcha.

Right, right. Something something bootstraps, don't critique the system.

So apparently these are some Dutch influencers who did it for a joke. They didn't actually stay in the sun for hours lol, it's spray tan. I like the details, like how they also sprayed the sunglasses, the hand and overlapping thigh. Good one, ladies.

I guess it's one of those trendy things that don't necessarily look good on everyone. I don't think they look bad but yeah they'd probably look better in a differently shaped swimsuit. So many people just follow trends and don't know how to accentuate their bodies these days.
I mean fashion changes like every two weeks so no wonder. That's why I shop at thrift stores lol, you can find awesome timeless pieces there, no trendy BS.

Hauling 5-7 kilos of textbooks around all day would fuck up anyone's back. It has mine, and I'm pretty tall. Towards the end me and a few other classmates just left textbooks in our lockers (we weren't allowed to do that but whatever). But that was after I got diagnosed with scoliosis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
