I find the anti-twilight crowd more annoying than the fans. I remember getting invited to an anti-twilight party in college. What's an anti-twilight party? Well, we would get together on the night of the movie's release and not watch twilight. So, essentially every day of my life was an anti-twilight party.

The great thing about the internet is that it allows even niche to thrive. Stuff doesn't disappear anymore. Before, if you wanted something that was out of style, you'd have to hope for a "greatest songs of _____" or that the person / group you were interested in was popular enough to keep on shelves.

I'm not even sure what's the point of using it. The joke always precedes the picture. It's like how in tumblr there's always that one poster that's "OMG, I can breathe". Brevity, is the soul of wit.

Those graphics were never awesome. Before 4, the GTA series was on the Renderware engine, not exactly something that pushed polygons. And Rockstar stressed size over graphics, combined that with a measly 32mg ram and a 294Mhz CPU, meant that things looked ugly. Keep in mind that Vice City was released in 2002.
