People argue that Homosexuals shouldn't get married because they can't have biological children together. And say that not having a motherly or fatherly influence is harmful. He probably tied one of these points into his speech along with the quote in this picture.
We shouldn't be overlooking the fact that Obama and the Obama Administation has lied to the American people countless times, among those claiming that Obamacare and the Affordable Health Care Act have helped millions; in reality, these numbers stem from elsewhere. Just a side note, don't be a low information voter.

im australian, I didn't want this post to get so political, all i wanted was to share my opinion that all leaders should allow same sex marriage. Done. that is all.
Yea but if it's a statement by a political figure, it's kind of what happens, but we all still have opinions and all still enjoy each other on here so no harm done
Exactly calmthelovelytits. And the American gov. has been one of the biggest liars, but I don't think anyone could say it hasn't been profitable, the government doesn't tell us everything for reasons, somethings need to be kept secret from other countries and from us. I feel like we, as Americans, have forgotten how good it is to be able to live in this country, and the smallest violations are taking to the extreme.
I think we can ALL agree that the republican party is the party of truth. I, for one, just worry about all those fact checkers that go hungry because they're out of a job.
Everyone thinks he makes this stuff up. He has speech writers people. Don't give hime props for saying it, give the speech writer props for creating this

yes, but he is 'for' gay marriage still.. he doesn't have to say what's written, he's the president he can probably do whatever he wants, here in australia our prime minister is against legalising gay marriage (let's not even bring his sister into this) and I posted this because I believe more leaders should be accepting. :)
Well with that logic, everything you haven't liked that you heard from him was probably a speech writer. So if you're going to make bad of the good things he says, don't blame him for the bad things he says. yes?
I never made anything bad about him. I'm just saying we should praise those who wrote the speech. Not him for saying this because it isn't his thoughts he's making. He may think gay marriage is fantastic, but he didn't make up this great saying. I don't care what he thinks, he's changed America for the better (for the most part) I don't even like him and I will admit that, but I never offended him. I didn't make bad of this quote at all. Please show me where I offended you because for some reason you are upset and if I haven't offended you, don't try to cause conflict. I don't like a lot of what he says or what anyone else says, but this is something that should be applauded because it's true, which is why I said we should also praise the speech writers. everyone already knows Obama's views for gay marriage, so why should we continually applaud him for it? That's like a kid drawing a line ten thousand times and then awarding him every single time. Redundant and unnecessary
You didn't offended me at all, I was just stating my logic on your claim. And by "decrediting" him of the amazing quote, you took away his ownership of such a good quote, which, in a way is making bad of the fact that the quote is his. That's like if you were to make up something really funny or intellectual and I disowned you of the quote by saying "C'mon guys, he probably got that from the internet" It's like saying you aren't able to come up with it yourself.
I wasn't trying to start conflict... I just wanted to make that clear...
I agree he's a good man and should be praised, but I just wanted to point out that the speech writers need recognition. Sorry to get all your panties in a wad! :/
Haha but I never said anything bad about him. All these people want to put words in my mouth can f*ck themselves. I hate Obama but I respect what he says. I simple pointed out that that isn't something he would be saying if he didn't have speech writers and that they deserve credit where credit is due then everyone else got political, not me.
And that's where you're wrong. He might not say the same exact words, but the message would remain the same.
It's very transparent when you and others nitpick something like this. For adults, this is common knowledge, so why bother bringing it up in Obama's case?
I am an adult thank you very much, and I never said anything bad? I just said we should praise the speech writers. What's so bad about praising the people behind the scenes? Without his people behind the scenes doing his campaign and organizing his meetings and his events he wouldn't have had a chance to even become the president because this isn't a one man job. So was I wrong for saying that? Or do you want to also "nitpick" and get upset over something that is totally true but that you don't like because you worship the ground our president stands on? He can be for LGBT rights, but he isn't a god.
6 weeks later and she still doesn't get it. :(
