I work in the bistro at a grocery store. This pisses me off every day

At a certain time it has to be thrown away, or people could sue for food poisoning. It's a huge waste of food but it has saved stores probably millions of dollars.

My Mother use to work at a gas station and at the end of the day bring home a Huge box of chicken, burritos, corn dogs, hot dogs, and anything else like that. That is until the co. stepped in and told them if its not thrown out they fire people. I come from a family of 6 kids. My Dad was a state fire marshal and making good money to, but with 8 mouths to feed that food helped. I mean if you can't give it to your employers that would benefit from it like we did. At least take it to a homeless shelter.
