Speaking of maternity leave. As an employer, why should I pay somebody to NOT work for me? If you wanna take a month off or whatever, sure thats one thing. But why should I pay you money, to do nothing for my business?
Because, ultimately, their value as an employee will override the cost of maternity leave. And it will most likely cost you more the train a new employee and get them to the level of the woman going leave. Also, on a more human, "basic dignity" level, I would think you don't want to punish a woman for getting pregnant by discontinuing her job.
Is it given in zebra meat or blood diamonds?
