I'm from Venezuela too. About the media blackout, it's becoming a reality, all the news channels are owned by the government and, considering that these protests are because of the inefficiency government, that isn't good.
The police are not the only ones involved with weapons, the army and the "delinquents" that live here are also fighting with the students that are protesting. This is turning into a civil war
Yeah, you could say that they're something like that. I really don't know a proper word in english, and I think that the word "malandro" is slang from here.
Yeah, everything's crashing here. For example, this morning there was video of a HUGE group of cops BEATING A GUY TO A FREAKING PULP. They were literately jumping on him and kicking him against the wall. And then they stripped him and kept beating him up. A few hours later the video was deleted. And they didn't kill one student. They killed THREE students.
And what the students are trying to do is to bring the government down like they did with Perez Jimenez. To bring down his dictatorship, there was a protest that lasted 26 days. And they're trying to do the same. It has been 7 days.
Omg! I feel conflicted about the whole thing. on the one hand i admire the passion to revolt against what they feel is unfair/unjust. on the other hand, i feel so sad that this is happening to those students. that beating u just described has me almost in tears. stay safe, friends. how old are u two? I'm 14. I'm truly scared of what might happen here as everything is just out of control. And I'm even more scared of what might happen in Caracas because my dad works there. I live in Puerto la Cruz with my mom and my sister
Im 15, I live in Valencia. Here everything is terrible, I can even hear gunshots every now and then. I am scared to death and I can't even dare to think of going out somewhere. I just hope that everything that the students are doing isn't in vain, all the deaths and the sacrifices that they've made.
my prayers are with you venzula <3 know that many countries are standing with you and as a fellow mexican i am very sorry to what is happening in your country, dios tenga piedad con Venezuela
I'm from Mexico and protests like those happened here a few months ago... I really hope the situation in Venezuela gets better, all my prayers are with you.
