If you have to wonder, you might be a little slow. We don't exactly compensate them enough to draw a higher calibre of teacher. On top of that, they are constantly catching shit from 3 sides. Those being the kids whose lives they're trying to enrich, their scumbag parents who think their spawn are innocent little angels, and then there's the administration...well, some of you have had jobs, right?
Couldn't agree more - we don't prioritise teachers and appreciate their form of employment enough, despite how flawed our future is becoming due to its decline. Their work is becoming more and more difficult and they have fewer and fewer resources, but it's TOTALLY the teacher's fault when they don't have enough time to mark all the work immediately (when they've also had to plan, budget and sort out all their other classes, as well as run a club, mark their other work, discuss the school and its running in meetings, attend courses and workshops, and keep a track of every student's progress!).
(That being said, I acknowledge some teacher's are just bad at their job.)
I've had a handful of truly horrendous teachers in my day, but honestly, I consider them saints if they even just do an average job. They sacrifice so much for so many ungrateful little shitstains, I actually get pissed at stuff like this and I'm not even a teacher, nor have I ever had any teachers in my family as far as I know.
And if your teachers sucks butt, realize that you have the power to learn on your own. Don't treat school as just prep work for the next test. Go out of your way to learn. When you're an adult, you'll be glad you did, and you'll have become a more interesting person than most, to boot.
