I agree! I have chronic migraines that usually result in me throwing up and hiding under the covers in a dark room. Headaches are NOT the same thing. At all.

They really aren't.. My sister in law misuses the term "migraine" all the time. Like bitch, if you had a migraine you wouldn't be sitting here complaining about it like you do, I usually do the same thing you do.

Well in that sense, yes they are the same, but symptom wise they are like comparing a severed arm to a static shock.

It isn't that big of a difference. What you would be considering "headaches" for me can hurt much more pain wise then the migraines I tend to get where I throw up, can't function, and have to be in darkness. Just because you aren't throwing up or hiding doesn't make it not a migraine.

I get migraines weekly sometimes lasting for days I know all about them unfortunately I'll be stuck with them permanently. I still manage to function mainly because I have a severely disabled son to care for I work though the light sensitivity, nausea, dizziness, and pain to the point of passing out sometimes.

Macdaddy221, I've been diagnosed with migraines by several neurologists. Those are just really bad headaches. For it to be medically classified as a migraine, you have to have throbbing and moderate to severe pain as in addition to things like worsened with activity, light/sound sensitivity, and nausea/vomiting. Just because it hurts really bad doesn't mean it's a migraine. A bad headache CAN feel worse than a migraine, but it doesn't mean that it IS one. There are certain symptoms. A migraine isn't just a bad headache either.

You know what grinds my gears- that people still say migraine even though they have never had migraines medically diagnosed.

Actually, I go to a neurologist because I do have chronic migraines once in a while. He told be that any headache where you have to stop what you are doing and lay down is considered a migraine which I and my mom only considered "headaches". So people really can have migraines even though you may not consider it one.

Definitely not the same thing. When I have a migraine, which is like once in two months, my visions gets wierd, my head hurts like hell and I can't focus on anything. Working on a computer, reading and writing becomes impossible. It's way worse than a headache.

I have chronic migraines that are caused by a LOT of things. Overheating, red dye, nitrates, hunger, stress, pushing my body too much, oncoming period, ect
