He also got rid of the bullet proof glass on the pope mobile. He washed the feet of an Israeli woman in jail. He spoke out about how capitalism screws over poor people. He decided he wanted to stay at a modest apartment near the Vatican rather than his "grand suite". And he also tweets. Like seriously whether you believe in god or not you have to acknowledge that he truly is an awesome guy
I don't know much about the catholic religion. I know you can't be a priest or a dean but why are women not allowed to be a pope? Are you allowed to be a cardinal?
Women can't be priests, cardinals, or popes, BUT some people are thinking that since Pope Francis is so cool that he might have an ecumenical council (Bunch of church authorities getting together to change stuff about the church) that can make women priests/ other authorities in the church and maybe accept gays and their ideas.
Women can't be pope for the same reason they can't be a priest or deacon. In order to become a pope, you have to have been a priest, bishop, or cardinal, which also answers your other question...women can't be cardinals...but they can be sisters or nuns!
While he did do all this great stuff, I would like to point out that he is a normal person, he publicly admitted to stealing off of a dead person, but acknowledged his wrongdoing and I think he even returned what he stole
Love how people become "so religious" all of a sudden when the new Pope came to town, speaking of "before coming to town, rarely did I see people practice religion, most of them said: "I'm an atheist, f religion."
Old post dude.
Plus, a if a person recognizes the new pope as someone great, it's because he is. It's rare to find such a loving leader, and to know it doesnt makes you religious.
Atheist are not just angry people.
Then tell me this friend, how come if a Muslim comes and does something good, no one pays attention to him/her, but they automatically say: He's just a terrorist trying to get fame from the people?
Uhm... Not all churches. What church do you know that wants him out? I personally love the guy and the fact that he broke the cycle of rich pope who raped little boys and spent too much money. Seriously, how does a cardinal spend $3 million dollars of (I assume church money) on a marble courtyard? If I ever get rich I plan on living in an apartment and spreading the wealth to different charities. Coreluv will get the most money.
Not necessarily. It has nothing to do with being a good person, its about how emtionally strong you are. If you strongly believe in something, and I mean strongly not just a "yeah i'm more of this than this", then that will sway your decision more than money. Just because you hear officials that should be good people being bribed doesn't mean that all good people can be bribed. The fact that they have been bribed shows they were masquerading there whole life and have been revealed for what they truly are. I guess one of the more real questions is if you were in a position of responsibility could you be bribed?
The cardinal actually spent 42$m on a house in Germany, and Francis suspended him and sent him back to the monastery. He's now trying to turn the house into a giant soup kitchen
He is praised because he has so much power over people, and has the ability to make his own life glorious and amazing until he dies, but instead is completely selfless and is using his power over people in order to help everyone. He is also an amazing role model to Christians and atheists alike because of his position.
There's nothing wrong with giving a peck on the cheek or something. Just no french kissing with a passion. And I see where you're coming from. Hopefully this man will break the cycle.
I found this about Vinicio Riva
