As a member of the gay community, unless you are a gay man reclaiming the word to use with other members of the community- just don't use it. It's something you call someone to imply they are gay, which means you are using our sexual identity as an insult.
If you want to support us, don't use gay, fag, faggot, dyke, queer, or any other homophobic slur like that. It doesn't matter if you don't mean to insult gay people- those terms do just that.

Exactly! Those that a slur refer to are the ones who get to decide if it's harmful and who can use it. It gives control of something hurtful, back to those who it is used to hurt and oppress. That's why only black people can use the n-word. That's why only people who are handicapped should use the word "retarded". If there isn't a slur or word that is used to mock/insult, that applies to who you are, count yourself lucky, instead of classifying everyone else as "too sensitive".
It's funny though, because the guys on the right could be the kindest people on earth, but we're looking at their clothes and hair and immediately thinking "'faggots'"

Well, we naturally judge other on the way they present themselves to the world, it is in our nature. They present themselves in the way they wish to be seen and we associate it with other people who present themselves in the same fashion, and make an educated guess about how they are, roughly. I can see where you're coming from though.
But I wish there would be a different way of expressing it. people say they're faggots because it's ironic because they're the ones calling homosexual people faggots right? I get it but I think it's hurting others unnecessarily.
Gay people are actually trying to keep the word around. Isnt that odd? its right in front of you trying to change into a new definition and you all are trying to keep it an insult for gays. Gay people are defending the word faggot. Nature is amazing

They didn't burn everyone for everything- it wasn't a free for all. Different cultures and different races were attempted to be wiped out, exterminated from history, from the present, from time. Homosexuals are one of those groups who have been targeted- not the only, and not the last.
Technically all the different cultures & races were being hunted for extinction by the fear and ignorance of people. So it's ignorance, not some plot that always perpetrated fear, hatred, and violence. Which is especially important to note on this thread.
