I think that might be the point... with the rail through their head, they don't need to. The intent might that the corporate lords and masters can pump their message directly into you.

Holy cow, this is such a statement as to how we follow the path (head on the pole) that we are given and do nothing to change it. The commercials are a representation of how we are pressured to buy the best of the best, and feel a NEED to. Woah.
