A kid not only knowing how to read, but knowing where to look to find a name-tag, AND having the cognitive maturity to assume that that was the person's name at 2 or 3 years old? A little doubtful. *cue all the stories about how you and/or someone you knew was reading and did the exact same thing at that age* besides. The girl insisted on going in that line when she had the choice of going to others. She most likely could not have read the name tag from such a distance and could've only relied on facial recognition.
This reminded me of when I worked as a cashier. This Pakistan little girl in her language told me something and I don't know why but I gave her a plastic bag, so i guess it really was what she was asking me cuz she continued to talk to me in her language, and I looked at her mom like all clueless. And so the mom in English tells her She isn't Pakistani, and the little girl scream yea she is. I thought it was funny and cute, I'm actually Mexican.
