At this point he is an old man, he is probably financially stable and has already found a wife, has kids etc... He wouldn't have too much to worry about, but I get your point it would be life changing to find out your life had been partly a lie

It's weird how we associate I tire continents of people together in a giant slur, like if you lived in any country and you looked to your left and right in a super market, the people u saw would look and act completely different
