There's this law where I live that if you try to commit suicide and fail, you get arrested and serve some amount of years in prison ( I think it's around 5yrs)
If I have a leprechaun calling at my door, law or not he's getting invited in regardless... for a pint, afternoon tea, diner... Whatever I have going on.
well leprechauns tend to not have much money because they try to bribe people with gold and always end up losing all of their gold so yeah this law makes perfect sense

As an irish person I can definitely say that my nana used to tell me this legend. And also, ya Christmas time most irish families don't leave out milk for Santa, we leave out whiskey to keep him warm (and intoxicated)
