As heart warming and inspiring as this tale is, it did not happen this way.
It wasn't an in person meeting, JK spoke with Evanna through correspondence after Eva reached out to her for help.
.
Eva did say she wanted to play Luna in the movies, but JK told her she would need to get better first before she auditioned, not that she could audition when she got better. Eva used this to fuel her recovery.
.
This story implies that JK had a say in her casting, but she was entirely unaware that Eva had auditioned. Eva attended an open casting call where she was up against over 15,000 other girls for the role and received no preferential consideration.
.
The accuracy of the story could be called 'sort of,' but has some errors and misses some important points.
Indeed. It sure is.
Eva's struggle was very real and JK did play a role in her recovery. As I mentioned above, the story in the post misses a few points... but it is the truth of what happened is actually more inspiring. It shows that Eva had to fight even harder than the initial story implies.
Wait anorexia? OK I thought this was a cancer victim make-a-wish type of thing, but fucking anorexia??! Why is she even getting such special treatment? Well I'm sure non of you agree but today's society coddles spoiled children WAY too much.
Yea, she had to work hard to get the part. She didn't get the role because she felt bad for her or because she was "spoiled", she got the role because she worked hard to get it and deserve it.
ns you are the worst kindof person. You're the same kind of person that tell people their depression isn't real or that they should just "get over it". Anorexia IS an illness and needs to be treated like so. You're only undermining that process.
