You learn how to cope with other people's crap but the consequences of helping them means you have to struggle with your own problems. It shows how people affect other people and leads to cooperation and trust. :)

I would've thought it had to do with the scene where he takes some drugs to try to lower his stress level from all the problems and has to deal with some side affects that deal with his rectum
