Are you feeling sad and depressed?? Take this pill that has the side-effect of suicidal thoughts or actions. Or those pills that causes anal seepage... sure it cures a stuffy nose, however your butt is going to leak. I think I'll just deal with a stuffy nose
I guess they're asking why would you advertise it and let people able to take it when it has many bad side affects. ( I mean only for things like sore throat or a small cold.because those are small things that you can just muddle through. I don't mean for big things that you should take it and deal with the side effects because getting rid of the actual thing is more important than a leaky ass. Sorry if I'm being confusing )
But the sideeffect they list such as "anal leakage", "hear attack" etc only occur once in a million. Its not something everyone taking the meds will experience, so its helpful to most people. :)
They aren't trying to advertise the side effects, they HAVE to say what the side effects are. Thats why its usually in a rushed semi quiet voice. Also many of the side effects are either extremely rare (like it affects 1 in 100,000 people that take the drug) or aren't even a real side effect (during the testing period, one patient reported they had anal leakage, a real condition and they might have even had it, but it wasn't necessarily from that medication). The drug company then has to list those side effects, because on the off chance somebody else gets one and it wasn't listed, they could be sued.
The bad part is you don't know whether that specific side effect happens to hit 50% of the people that take the medication, or 0.0000001%
The side effects that happen during testing and trials are required by the government to be mentioned. Even if there were a thousand participants during trials and only one or two people showed the side effects. :)
YES THOUGH like 'DO YOU WANT RELIEF FROM YOUR MINOR KNEE PAIN? THIS WILL SOMETIMES RELIEVE YOUR MINOR KNEE PAIN! possible side effects are death (in 2% of consumers) and you may suffer from nausea and migraines and diarrhea and sleepiness and depression and problems in your major organs and spontaneous combustion and did we mention death BUT IT'LL RELIEVE YOUR MINOR KNEE PAIN SO YOU SHOULD TRY IT IT'S ALL NATURAL THAT SIXTY LETTER WORD IS UM KALE OIL SURE and btw make sure you ask your doctor though and don't use it if you've been on any medication within the last two centuries or you're pregnant or will be or have been or your friend's cousin is
"you may suffer from nausea and migraines and diarrhea and sleepiness and depression and problems in your major organs and spontaneous combustion" XD This is now one of my most favorite comments in FS history
I think the real question is "Why in the world are we advertising prescription drugs on tv?"
If you have to see a doctor to get the prescription, then shouldn't it be your doctor who assess your problem and then chooses the right medication for you based on your medical history and needs, rather then telling your doctor what to write out for you?
I think in Canada it's illegal yo advertise to patients. I only see these kind of commercials on us networks.

Have a minor cold? Well this Medicean will fix that, but a few side effects include, but are not limited to:
•itching
•coughing
•asthma
•butt cancer
•spontaneous combustion
•Nazism
•death
•diarrhea
•WW3
•death
•coldness
•etc.
Talk to your doctor or physician to see if [random medicine] is right for you
He also has a joke about it mentioning anal leakage/seepage but I can't find a video of it.

" You might DIE but you won't be depressed...so that's good right!"
