Atheism is the rejection of belief in deities. Or the stout disbelief in that any deities exist.
So not believing in god makes you an atheist.

I think not believing in god and being an atheist are different things. Because for example I reffer to myself as an atheist, but I might need to find anither term because I just don't believe in god, but believe in other things, like ghosts.
An atheist doesn't believe in anything "supernatural" I think. So yes, being an atheist and not believing in god it's different.
I am an atheist, and I don't REALLY believe in superstitions but I participate in some of them because they are fun, harmless, and everyones doing it... ie I'n not going to be the awkward person who doesn't knock on wood due to my lack of relgion...
Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Most inclusively, atheism is the absence of belief that any deities exist.
/\ Taken from the wikipedia entry on 'Atheism' supernatural entities/beliefs don't come into it.
Its interesting though, how many times 'God' is mentioned and linked to the supernatural.
Yes, do you think non-believers are a bunch of hippies?
We behave, we have morals, because it is right and it us our good to the other people. Not because we're trying to impress someone.
You don't need religion to have morals. You need humanity and empathy.
.
In fact, given actions taken and words spoken by (some of) the religious makes the claim of having morals dubious.
