history lesson: when the founding fathers met to hammer out the constitution, they also voted on a national language. German lost to English by like one vote. WE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
I heard there was no national language. Because when they declared independence there were other countries in what's now north America and a lot of people were immigrants who spoke other languages.

I live in LA and I still haven't heard a single person speak french. Only shona, spanish, german, and a few others. The only french i have heard so far was from my mom.
I'm /preeeeeeeeetty/ sure Chinese is a language. Though there are many dialects (mandarin, etc.) spoken, those are considered "Chinese" but from a Western point of view. [they don't call their language that]
