Does this work with packaged cookies (chips ahoy, etc)? or only fresh baked?

it does work with packaged ones, you can also use crackers in place of the bread, but why do you want to make the cookies soft? :o

Don't have them in Saouth Africa (I think) but can't you dip them in tea or coffee and then eat the soaked, soft, non-rock cookies?
