Doesn't work.Washing my mirror outside, did that and there was a gap.put it back in place, there are no rooms behind where the mirror is,just outside.FAKE.
Some mirrors have glass on top of the mirror itself to protect it-- I think they are called second surface mirrors. If you were to put your finger to it, then of course there would be a gap because there is glass in between.
So after reading the link....it basically just said that ya it is mostly true since most first surface mirrors are expensive and thus not used in places like a public bathroom, but there are more efficient ways to detect it......so how exactly is it a ridiculous urban legend?
Not like the other ways of detection were completely foolproof either, and most of those would be much more noticeable to a person on the other side than getting a bit too close to the mirror and touching it.

It's ridiculous because it's fear mongering. Have you ever seen a two way mirror in person? It's very obvious. There's no need to get people all worked up over every single change room mirror. We have enough legitimate things to be worried about without these urban legends.
Its may work in some cases, I'm not sure but this didn't work for me. We recently placed a new mirror in our bathroom and I tried this out and there wasn't a gap.
Whst are you afriad of? That they'll see how you wash your hands? I don't think it's worth going and finding an entirely new bathroom. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
