In case you were wondering about his post, it was something about Christians facing religious persecution. Because, you know, it's not like they're the most privileged religious group in western society or anything.
While that stuff xmatrixng mentioned is awful and horribly wrong, and was done by a group of bad people who should not have done what they did in the name of Christianity, that doesn't hide the fact that there are still people in the Middle East and other places who are suffering and being horribly treated because they believe in Christianity. I am friends with a family who escaped from Syria. Why did they have to escape to the United States? Because their families and friends were already being persecuted and tortured and killed because of their beliefs. Just because some Christians are hypocrites who live a cushy life, we shouldn't dismiss the fact that these others are in need.

That is true, and I by no means want to undermine the severity of what is happening there. However, I do think it is problematic when groups that already have privilege are told that they're bring threatened. It tends to result in those groups being less inclined to help needier populations. I'm just talking about western society here.
