Well no, we speak the English language, which, technically. isn't stealing. The point is, the French speak French, and the word "aubergine" originated in France, and now people from the UK say "aubergine", but people from America call it an eggplant.

I thought this was America, not tea and baguette land. Personally, eggplant sounds better than aubergine.
