Well, school is meant to prepare us for life as hard as it might seem. Those worthless classes might not benefit you, but they could be the little nudge that gets someone interested in their future career. A degree. This picture does pose a valid point but a few of us might be learning something from school. If you don't think that the learning part in school is worth crap, then think about all of the experience you are getting with people. How to deal with them. Learning how they act. Peer pressure sucks but it might also push you to do things that might benefit you, like competing for the best grade, becoming more fit, learning what's what in fashion. It's all about the little things, I feel.
I liked school. I didn't talk to anyone and that seems wrong to many, but it's really doesn't mean problems. I still have friends from outside. I learned a lot and I think only the slower ones "memorize" the books for exams, without understanding I always was first of my class. I just like making my mom happy

Unless you are in science like I am...I use that stuff all the time.
Making a good person out of you that thinks for himself sooner or later would make you realize how the world works which has to be avoided at all cost. Instead you are tought things that help you make money, mainly for your employers who by pure coincedence are the same people as the ones who want to avoid giving you real education.
You're right. You are a victim and are entitled to so much more. Run with that attitude through the rest of your life and let us know how much of a positive impact you have on humanity!
I would like school a lot more if my grades didn't affect my future so directly. I can see why it's done, it just makes it that much harder to enjoy. And given how many lifetimes it took to compile all this knowledge into research and history, I think we should at least be given some freedom to enjoy it.
School is easy. Just do what you're told and read a passage every once in a while and you're bound to get at least a B average. As far as not using it in real life, the stuff learned in school really does benefit you in some way shape or form. Whether it be for an exam or for the rest of your life.
The first time I realized that high school was important was in my first year geology lab when we had to find unknown angles and lengths of different sides of a triangle. A lot of things you learn in high school are applied to just about any job out there.
Some things I get, like math and reading, but some things (like memorizing what the Capitol city of Uzbekistan is or why clouds form at certain heights) could be skipped :) I do like school but agree that some things don't really have any purpose later on.
Most of the value from highschool isnt the retension of memorized information, its learning how to learn. Learning what it takes to make a grade, or put together a project. Those are things you wont forget and will absolutely use in the real world if you plan on doing anything more than minimum wage work.
