What if Hitler had been allowed to stay in art school, and then became an artist? Then it might have been honorful to own a "Hitler", and people all over the world would call him a genius.

People all over the world know him as a genious. In all reality he was a genious but he's only remembered for his anti semitism. I don't agree with that part of his reign but otherwise Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time.
philosophic - i started a debate in history for saying that. Hitler wasn't a good man, he did terrible things. However he was a great leader: he rallied huge groups of people in his country and completely changed the world.

He was a great man and did two things that destroyed his image. The holocaust and WW2. If he had never done either of those two things then Germany would be the world super power. But, if it hadn't been for these atrocities how much would the world be different? Completely.
Let's get one thing straight. He wasn't a "great" leader. That adjective implies a moral aspect. He was charismatic, he knew how to motivate a population, but nothing about him was "great."

His morals were right in the eyes of his people and supporters. Everyones morals are different.
He pulled his country out of the worst depression, gave them hope, purpose and an identity. I will never say that he was a good man, but he was a very smart man who knew how and when to act.
Besides, it was partly our fault that he rose to power anyway.

He rose to power on his own accord. The anti communist ideology skyrocketed Nazism after the Reichstag Fire. Hitler using his inteligence and leadership skills became leader of the Nazi party and won the peoples' favor by doing what he promised and made Germany into the world superpower it was. He enriched German culture. Berlin became one of the art centers of the world pre-war. We allowed the build up of military which was the only thing we should've acted on from the start.
hemlock - i don't mean it to have a positive connotation in terms of the actions he took or that i agree with them morally, i mean it more in that he was smart and powerful at *leading* specifically.
Art these days is, in many ways, very similar to art back in those days - there was the same wide variety of styles back in the early 1900s as there is now. Y'all always act as if this modern style is a new thing.
Besides, it was partly our fault that he rose to power anyway.
