Money doesn't buy happiness, but it sure as hell helps!
I'd much rather be miserable and rich than miserable and poor, but I don't intend to leave my family behind, so if I play my cards right, I'll be rich AND happy.
That's the dream, and I'm following it.
Not really. He's suffered from crippling depression for decades. He's also had problems from trying to self medicate with alcohol and drugs. His fame and money did nothing to relieve his problems. Mental illness crosses all boundaries of economics, gender, education, and culture. He wasn't upset his show was cancelled or that he had less money. He had a mental illness, and very sadly, felt he could no longer continue under his burden.
Wether money can buy happiness depends on what makes you happy. But people don't understand money has limitations so expect more from it than is possible.
Money can't buy true happiness (at least in my opinion), but it can buy health and security. It's easier to be happy when you're not scared of dying from disease or hunger everyday, and don't have to worry about having a roof over your head.
