Wait seriously? Where is this? In Australia it is about $2 for water and $2.50+ for most other drinks

@Proxxy, I'm a fellow aussie from sydney. Most of the time in small convenience stores they sell soft drinks 1-2 bucks and water 2.50-3.50. But in restaurants its the other way around like u have said where I live.

In Melbourne at the cinema, bottled water is $4 while a soft drink is $5
