Our great modern republic. May those who seek the blessings of it's institutions and the protection of it's flag remember the obligations they impose.
~Ulysses S Grant
I give golf clap to you sub. Nice Troll.
I'm guessing the British Empire had a flag. And Ottoman's used flags, and Romans also use banners as did the Greeks.

Okay, the whole point of this post people, is to tell you just exactly what it says, this post is not specifically directed toward the US,it is directed toward every country.
I asked why we were targeted specifically in this post, OP said we were not and I thought the OPs interpretation was off, Howard Zinn liked to tread the line between anti war and anti American in his books. I liked the sign, just not having the US flag attached to it. Had the pictured flag been a nazi flag Or Isis flag I would have not questioned anything. (Right now I am questioning why Apple automatically capitalizes the words Isis and Apple) I don't recall name calling, cussing, making crazy claims, stamping my feet, or any other activities that would justify you calling my response childish.
Does ISIS have a flag unique from any country and Islam?

Why is it such a big deal that the US flag was used though? Are you denying that the US has killed innocent people, sometimes motivated by nationalism? It's the apparent offense you have taken to this perfectly valid imagery I consider childish.
I understand that the background being the US flag might offend you from your perspective. However, I am also an American, but putting my nationality aside and directing my attention to conflicting moralities among human beings, our species, I am focusing on the words that are IN FRONT OF THE FLAG and the words bwing said are meant to enlighten you in the form of blatant truth. Take it as you will.
Your nationality is irrelevant, however, if that is the only thing in this post that catches your attention, than I truly have great sympathy for you.
Well... Here in canada, we've only been in a few wars. (WW1,WW2, Vietnam, Bosnia and Afghanisan.) Most of which were peacekeeping missions, unless you count our colonial wars and 1812 where Canada and the British Empire kicked the US's ass
Well then, you seem to have mixed up the US's flag for ISIS'.
Or perhaps China? Vietnam? The Soviet Union? Nazi Germany? Imperial Japan? The Confederate States' perhaps?
Or were you just telling the world that the U.S. military is one the biggest reasons we don't have to worry about most of the bad guys.
Would people prefer Red China or the Soviet Union?
Imagine, what if the U.S. had cut a deal with the Japs back in the 40's.
Or if the Confederates won.
What if we let the Soviets have South America, or decided to stay at home rather than help fight the Nazis?
We may not be perfect, but not a lot of world powers are as large as us and even fewer are as good.
What if the confederates won: Absolutely nothing. The country would turn back into what it was pre-war. Slave states would still have slaves while the North wouldn't. The confederates fought to keep their livlihood and tradition. The North wanted change and freedom for all. You obviously have no idea what you're saying. You're just spouting out random shit.

And? None of that changes the simple fact that: other countries have done worse but that does not excuse US killing innocents. That's the whole point of this.

metalman, you're not entirely correct. The primary purpose of the American Civil War was to decide whether to keep the US unified or to break apart. Slavery had nothing to do with the purpose, it was just one of those differences that made each other hate the other that much more. Abraham Lincoln himself couldn't have cared less about black people. He hated slavery as a principle, but once he re-unified the country and got rid of slavery, he had no idea what to do with the free blacks. Ship them back to Africa for all he cares. Not very many people cared about freedom and equality, it was fighting to decide how many countries the world would have.
You're right. Not sure why you're getting downvotes. Had the confederacy won the "United States" would be a small cluster in the north and east of the current US.
