Not smart at all.. I haven't met ONE person that would text that to their parents. It would be SO obvious they're drunk.

It's good up until the "have a wonderful evening..." bit. If I ever texted that to my mom, her reply would automatically be "What are you really doing?!" A simple goodnight would be much better.

If the parents have no doubt of the sincerity of their son/daughter the first time, receiving the exact same text message three or four times in a month may tip them off.
