Me too, it's very helpful in case you for example set it to a wrong day. This will remind you that sleeping for 3 days and 8 hours is a bit amiss.

I think its kinda nice. Helps so you don't accidentally set it for 7pm instead of am or 7am tuesday instead of monday

My girlfriend has a cell phone from 2003 with the exact same option. Thanks Android for recycling the worst ideas other companies already had.
