Me too. I don't understand why it got so popular, opposed to other Disney movies that did basically the same thing and got very little attention for it
I don't get all the hype either.. but here's a thought.. maybe it's the hype that actually got more ppl watching this one more than the other Disney movies.. and now more ppl are finally realizing the magic that is Disney.
I just watched it for the first time a little while ago, and while I thought it was really cute (especially Sven), it definitely wasn't the best Disney movie I've ever seen.
the music is brilliant I'll give it that- but the animation, while pretty in some places, isn't anything ground breaking. Anna is literally just Rapunzel with a makeover. The siblings storyline has been done in Lilo and Stitch and Brother Bear. The poor guy with a heart of gold has been done in Aladdin and Rapunzel. It's highlight for me, comes in the music. I honestly feel it's something that would be done better in a stage musical.
I agree 100%. It's nothing Disney hasn't already done, and it's getting praise for things disney has previously been ignored (and in some cases, chastised) for
And the whole "teaching girls that you dont need a man to save you" has actually been done in a lot of disney movies like
Lion king, mulan, brave, princess and the frog, etc., etc.,
The movie isn't that bad but the dress in "Once Upon a Time" sure is. I can't imagine the poor woman who has to wear it. Or the poor women who have to wear it at the Disney Parks.
Lion king, mulan, brave, princess and the frog, etc., etc.,
