Every once in a while there will be a police helicopter circling around my campus and I'm like time to lock the doors and draw the blinds. Last time it happened the person they were after tried to break into some of the apartments in my building. (to hide I'm guessing) But campus security and the police were on top of it so no one got hurt thank goodness.
Save the drama Honey not everyone hates the police, and let's face it, you couldn't do my job. I've been spat at, bitten, kicked and punched etc, 26 years old, 5'4 female police officer from Glasgow Scotland. Not armed, don't want to be, and sick of being told how I'm a horrible person for trying to help ungrateful people like you. Stop demonising us.

Police tore up files, claims a victim
A CHILD sex abuse victim has claimed police tore up files relating to her ordeal, while another was allegedly stopped from being medically examined.
In one case, the alleged victim said she was left bleeding after a violent assault, which she reported to children’s home staff, who called the police.
“The officer that used to come to the children’s home came and picked me up in a police car,” she said.
“He took me to a lay-by, kept calling me a liar, saying he’d read my files and that I was a liar and no-one was going to believe me, it was more trouble than it was worth and he ripped my paperwork up.
“He dropped me back at an Indian restaurant — back with my abuser.”
Fuck off guest, like we've been saying their are dumbfuck, asshole cops and theres the rest. This cop deserves his position revoked but that doesn't effect the integrity of the other cops. The actions of one cop doesn't and shouldn't define represent all cops.
Don't you like the truth? because I have loads more. of course there are good cops but I am sick of cops telling us how wonderful they are without acknowledging the bad ones
Just like they're probably sick of being told how horrible they are without acknowledging the good ones. And there are a lot more good cops than bad cops. It's just the 'cool' thing to be angry at cops, or say you hate them, because you're acting like a 'rebel'. When you've grown up a couple of years you'll realise, 99% of the time, people don't like cops because they're doing something illegal, and would rather blame cops for themselves ending up in jail than admit they were doing the crime in the first place.
guest- they don't talk about the bad ones because they want people to feel safe! if a cop says, "don't worry we have everything under control, you're perfectly safe- I mean this same situation happened a while ago and other cops shot a tonne of people, but don't worry." NO. you wouldn't. when it comes to bad cop stories- people don't realize how few they actually are in comparison to the majority of GOOD things they do- but of course, the media doesn't show you that. they only show you the failures.
I agree with you that there are more good ones than bad ones but not mentioning the bad ones doesn't make the problem go away. If you want to see what silence does then just google Rotherham 1400

Dear beloved guest. What do you do for the benefit of your community, what sacrifices have you made? How many times have you worked a 30 hour shift and missed important events in your 'real' life? Not many probably. There are bad doctors,
Corporate Bosses who steal money and abuse staff, teachers who have sex with pupils. The point I'm making is that there are bad people everywhere, this isn't minority report, there is no way of knowing if a person will potentially do bad things in future. Bad things happen in policing just as they do everywhere else in the world. You are clearly an angry little person with a chip on your shoulder. I am a good police officer and uneducated, inexperienced people with a half baked opinion like you are in no position to judge me.
I feel both. my dad is a cop- the only paranoia I have is that I always imagine he's sent somebody to spy on me wherever I go. But other than that, feel totally protected
It's so weird and reverse that people are told that and very well know that police/soldiers are protective and are the good guys and they are just like everyone else, but people get tense and stiff when one is near. I'm 14, and I'm guilty of doing this but don't know why and I well know that they're protective and not to be scared of. It's like a reflex that we saw other people doing so we do it too.
