This is sad, there not "bums" thee human beings like you and me. Most homeless people have crippling mental illness and because we live in a system that is inadequate and unwilling to help they have to live in horrible conditions. Most homeless people arnt "moochers" they are our neighbours who deserve compassion and help.

I heard it's always better to give them food or something over money so that way you know they won't spend it on booze (some do, not all)
