That would be a mother tongue not a native tongue. Native means that local people use it as their main language. English cannot be a native tongue in China.
German. Everyone thinks it so ugly, or that to speak it you have to sound angry/yell... But they have not heard any German. Its actually quite smooth, and try to listen to any German poetry/ music, its pretty much English but so much richer.
Spanish! I guess most think all latinamerican music is about party, hotness and drinking. But well, like everybody else we have feelings haha.
BUT being a music student, I think you don't need to *know* the message to get it. We are all humans, we know how we sound towards certain situations, and a beautiful melody will catch anyone with ears.
I also have a lil blog where I translate spanish songs to english for friends :) it's not really a big thing, but I like showing songs that I think are good
Turkish for sure!! Not really modern music, but the classics are amazing and the lyrics are so deep!!! A kid could grow up to be a well-mannered successful person, just by listening to those songs. It taught me a lot growing up.
"Vorrei passare dai 10 ai 30 per non subire questa
Tortura il primo amore, la prima casa dover vestire
Quest'armatura il primo amico che ti tradisce o che
Magari tradisci tu il primo treno che non ci sali
E che magari non torna più"
That struck me deep and hit a raw nerve. Ouch...
I swear, Italian is the most beautiful language to behold. So pure, delicate, ancient and emotional. I've studied many other languages and heard most, none of them come even close to Italian (and I have Latin under my belt. LATIN!). Just my experience, but I do think that these lyrics are really touching. It talks about betrayal and leaving your misery behind...and perhaps, never returning. Very moving, I'd say.
Not really. I mean Czech is a beautiful language and our literature (especially some pieces of poetry) is in many cases amazing, but I'm honestly not a fan of Czech musicians. I don't know why, I just don't find them anywhere above average. Especially when idiots like Michal David become so successful.
Michal David isn´t the best, but I think some of our rappers has point, for example eLKa, if you know him. I heard only his newest album, but I love those texts.
I haven't checked him out yet because rap isn't really my cup of tea, but I might as well do it. I'm always glad to support our nation provided there's something to take pride in.
Honestly, I love listening to foreign music- French, Danish etc. I think part of the joy of listening is that your brain is fully paying attention- your imagination is trying to think of the story the song is telling, while your intelligence is on over drive trying to pick up the meaning of a few words and put them into a context. It's like one big puzzle and you don't know where it's going! I love when you get the cultural, celtic-type songs with the beautiful music. I don't have any idea what they're singing, but by god I'll take it over Miley Cyrus any day!
Bollywood songs.
I don't listen to the Bollywood pop music that much but when those odd few really emotional and breath taking songs come on...it saddens me that a large portion of the world won't be able to understand it.
Like China.
