I know that this might get me a lot of hate, but I really don't believe in the whole "your gender is whatever you want it to be" thing. Yes, I agree that being transgender is in fact a psychological condition where your brain and hormones don't really correspond with what's between your legs, but that's like 0.05% of the population! And the SJW tumblrettes behave like they're each a completely different gender, making themselves special snowflakes and insult people who are fine with their gender with "cis-gender" (yes it's only a scientifical term but believe me, they really DO use it as insults). So yes, I am aware of the Gender Identity Disorder, but at the same time I really get annoyed and don't believe the people who act all special snowflake at me because "I like cars so I must be a guy".
No, don't think I will be offended because I totally get what you say. The one thing that I disagree is that you said "gender is whatever you want it to be", because it isnt a matter of wishing, it just *is* (like you can't like boys just because you *want* to, is something that happens)
Other than that, yes, I am aware that some people use it to have attention and feel special, which is wrong and offensive.
Wanting to behave like the opposite of what you "should", doesn't mean you have to be the other gender, it's just being out of the common.
Everyone just should know how to see the difference between that and the ones that have this real struggle in life.
Good point, I agree. The "your gender is whatever you want it to be" was meant as a parody of those people who "invent" new genders even though they probably have no idea that there are people who actually struggle because of this condition. In other words, the ones who use it to get attention and feel special, as you described them. And yes, it is indeed very wrong and offensive to the ones who are actually diagnosed with being transgender.
