As a Norwegian, I cringe everytime someone writes "bæ" instead og bae. Æ and ae is not the same, and are pronounced extremely different. Additionally, "bæ" is the Norwegian word for the sound sheeps make, lol.
Right right, because they gave her less points. And while this was technically illegal in figure skating, she did it so people would see they were giving her low scores because of her race ?
Or am I confused with stories ?
Sorta. Back flips in Ice skating is extremely dangerous, and in order to prevent any of the athletes from trying it they made a rule that said the move is legal if you land on one foot. Everyone knows you land on two feet in back-flipping, so no one thought they'd try it.
Enter Surya. And she did it with her back to the judges and chin held high. They still called it illegal despite it being not, so she did succeed in showing people the racism in sports, which was her goal in the first place. Really interesting. Add that she's the only person /in history/ to succeed in doing it, and it's pretty impressive.
Maybe it wasn't racism, maybe the judges were just hypocrites and were pissed that someone found a loophole in their rules. Either way, it is hella impressive.
They'd been low balling her from the start, and it was obvious they weren't so hard on her white counterparts.
And to think, I can't even back flip on s trampoline.
Oh, okay then. I don't know as much about the topic as you do, I just wanted to remind us people that it's not always racism/sexism/homophobia that is the cause for people not liking someone.
Me neither, friend. Me neither.
I'm not sure but I think I've heard from some people before doing this is against the rules? O.o but whatever she landed perfectly so that's 2 thumbs up for me :)
She got low balled for being blacks, got pissed, the move was STILL called illegal, but she won cause she landed on one foot(which was the rule that made said move legal), thus she proved they were racists.
