And this got downvoted because..?
Please, downvoters, explain to all of us how do you have a kid (that is, "make" it) with a method that doesn't imply a man and a woman in it.
They can get sperm from a sperm bank but that also needs a man to donate that sperm in the first place. They can accumulate enough sperm in hidden reserves and then get rid of the men. This can be a movie, I'm just saying.
Scientists have developed a process which takes the bone marrow from one person and uses it to fertilise a woman's egg. The marrow donor can be a man or a woman which means that a lesbian couple can have a baby and both be its natural parents :)
yeah, but feminists were about equality right? it is not fair for the kid for not having a set of parents because the mom thinks men are unneccesary for life...
I think the point here is that there is never a picture of a little girl in front of her moms grave going "Ill take care of dad". Its a common thing in a lot of media that there has to be a "Man of the House" and thats a really 1950s mentality. Personally id be pissed that anyone would put that kind of pressure on a kid of any sex.
As someone who grew up without a dad, in the beginning it is harder for the mom more than the child. But eventually the son does take care of his mother, whether it is moving furniture, house repairs, chopping fire wood, and helping pay the bills because your house only has one income and the son takes a job to help.
