Well yeah, cuz it was all in the same hour, and I assume the red corresponded with the hour, so there was only blue and green variation. But I still thought it was cool how the colors got gradually brighter or darker.

You assume right. The color encode is RGB (Red Green Blue), so... yeah.

Basically every set of numbers for the time eg 12 29 08 corresponds to a color code in the computing system. So basically every second of the day (by their numbers) has a corresponding color.
