If you look closely, that is a quote by Paul Hawken. His name is at the bottom. He is referencing a very beautiful quote by Emerson:
.
"If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore; and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown! But every night come out these envoys of beauty, and light the universe with their admonishing smile."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
.
Emerson did not talk about television. He died on April 27, 1882, and what is considered to be the first demonstration of television didn't occur until nearly half a century later on January 26, 1926.

I have some others to add.

1. "Abashed the Devil stood, and felt how awful goodness is." - John Milton
2. "Expectation is the root of all evil." - William Shakespeare
3. "Be not inhospitable to strangers, lest they be angels in disguise." - William Shakespeare
4. "In this world, there are only two tragedies. One is not getting what you want, and the other is getting it." - Oscar Wilde.
5. "Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay to mould me Man, did I solicit thee from darkness to promote me?” - John Milton
- Background: This is my favourite quote, taken from John Milton's epic "Paradise Lost" [Book X, 743–745], which tells the story of Mankind's fall from grace. This quote occurs when Adam is banished from paradise after consuming the forbidden fruit. He is angry at God, crying out in defiance by asking the Lord, "Why was I created? Why would you bring me into existence, if only to punish and make me suffer? What merciful Father would do that?" etc you get the idea...

8. "They've promised me that dreams can come true - but forgot to mention that nightmares are dreams, too." - Oscar Wilde.
9. "The Devil is not as black as he is painted." - John Milton
