What's so weird about americas system? It counts from one to 12. Sophmore is just a term for a person in 10th grade. Its still called 10th grade, how is that confusing?

It seems confusing because non-Americans don't really hear the word sophomore unless it's referring to a band's second album--wait, that means we use sophomore because it's their second year in high school!

in scotland it goes nursery (age 5-6), then primary 1-7, then high school, First year to sixth year
